“Wow.”

Driving around town right now WOW is all anybody is saying. It is stunningly beautiful out. The aspens are at the height of their color, bright gold, contrasting with the dark green fir trees, the orange oaks and white snow. It really is a special time of the year here in the mountains. If you’ve never experienced a fall in the Rockies you are missing a spectacular time of year. To plagiarize Warren Miller, if you don’t experience fall in the Rockies this year you’ll just be one year older when you do.

It’s been a very interesting week real estate wise. Yesterday I toured two condos on Main Street and a home just above Main Street that are all quite spectacular. The condos are best described as lofts that you would normally see in major cities, are above retail space and have numerous outdoor decks with hot tubs, or firepit or dining facilities. The units are extremely contemporary and really capture the views from old town of the ski resorts and activities on Main Street.

The home is a rebuilt old miner’s home which was originally 800 square feet and has been expanded to 3,400 square feet, and is also very contemporary. Contemporary seems to be the newest trend around Park City as we have evolved from mountain rustic to mountain contemporary and now contemporary. For us, this is very refreshing but it will be interesting to see what the buyers think of it. Are buyers still looking for mountainy homes rather than the contemporary home that many of them already have as their primary residence?

luxury estate in the Colony in Park City, Utah

And then today, I saw the most beautiful home that I have ever seen. It is located in the Colony which is the ski-in/ski-out community attached to Canyons Resort. The owner of this home purchased and then combined two lots and then designed a home which takes in all of the beauty of the Wasatch range. The master bedroom features a large panel of floor-to-ceiling windows which perfectly frames the mountains in the background and aspen forest in the foreground. Standing in the master bedroom looking up at the mountains with the bright gold aspens directly in front was an amazing site. This home also is very contemporary with curves throughout making it very interesting and appealing to the eye. Between the home, the lot, and the views, I really do say that this is the most beautiful, interesting and appealing home that I have seen here in Park City. And, it has direct ski-in/ski-out access to Canyons Resort. If you’d like more information on any of these properties call or email me.
